The VRM group chooses renewable energy production
VRM Group confirms its commitment in the field of social responsibility and sustainability by setting up a new plant for the production of renewable energy, at a time when the “energy crisis” is a very important topic.
In recent weeks, the construction of a structure has been completed at the group’s headquarters in Zola Predosa, through which VRM intends to implement an energy saving plan for its production plants, precisely through the use of the renewable energy source par excellence: the sun.

The choice to use this technology was born from the need not only to protect the environment by limiting the emission of pollutants, but also to implement fossil fuel savings.
“To date, the production of electricity is almost entirely from thermoelectric plants that use substantially fossil fuels – explain from the VRM group -. The total annual energy produced by the plant is estimated at around 35,079 kWh, therefore the savings on fuel will be relevant”.
Fuel savings and fewer emissions
A useful indicator to define the fuel savings resulting from the use of renewable energy sources is the conversion factor of electricity into primary energy [TOE / MWh]. This coefficient identifies the T.O.E. (Tons of Oil Equivalent) necessary for the realization of 1 MWh of energy, or the TOE saved with the adoption of photovoltaic technologies for the production of electricity.
| Fuel savings in | TOE |
| Conversion factor of electricity into primary energy [TOE / MWh] | 0.187 |
| TOE saved in one year | 0.57 |
| TOE saved in 20 years | 10.53 |
In addition, the photovoltaic system allows the reduction of atmospheric emissions of substances that have a polluting effect and of those that contribute to the greenhouse effect.
| Atmospheric emissions avoided by | CO2 | SO2 | NOX | Powders |
| Specific emissions into the atmosphere [g / kWh] | 474.0 | 0.373 | 0.427 | 0.014 |
| Emissions avoided in one year [kg] | 1 451.85 | 1.14 | 1.31 | 0.04 |
| Emissions avoided in 20 years [kg] | 26 683.46 | 21.00 | 24.04 | 0.79 |
A plant to reaffirm the commitment to the environment
The system, called VRM, is of the grid-connected type, the type of connection is: THREE-PHASE in low voltage. It has a total power of 33 kW and an annual energy production of 35,079 kWh (equivalent to 1 063.53 kWh / kW), deriving from 132 modules that occupy an area of 390 m2, and is composed of 1 generator.
“This plant is another step towards ever greater sustainability and reaffirms our commitment to respecting the environment” conclude in VRM.
